Theater plans Toys for Tots fundraiser

This Saturday will be a great chance for local residents to enjoy a blockbuster movie while at the same time helping children in need.

The Whitehall Star Theater will be hosting a charity event December 10 to raise money for Toys for Tots.

According to Colton Anderson of the Star Theater, they will be showing Marvel's "Doctor Strange", and the first 50 people through the door will receive free admission to the film. Anderson said it should be a great movie for the whole family.

Anderson would like to do two charity events a year and this should be a fun event for the community.

Anderson said there will be a cash donation box set up, as well as a toy donation box. Any donation of $5, or a toy, will receive a free movie pass.

Anderson plans on buying toys with every dollar donated.

Anderson chose Toys For Tots because he knows where the donation will be going.

Anderson added there would also be a plethora of silent auction items set up.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the screening will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Anderson also wanted to thank his sponsors for the event with helping out with the free admission, or donations for the auction. Anderson listed Rocky Mountain Bank, Jefferson Fresh Foods, Whitehall Truck and Towing, Corner Store, Claude and Annette Leverton, Cottage Floral, Whitehall Medical Clinic and Peppertree Deli and Catering as helping out with the event.

Anderson added even if residents can't attend the movie, they could come and bid for auction items and also donate once the doors are open.
