Lady Trojans win two

It was quite the week for the Whitehall High School girls basketball team.

The Lady Trojans snapped a six game losing streak Thursday with a 42-35 road victory over Manhattan. The momentum carried over to Saturday and a 57-13 home win over Gardiner.

Head Coach Herman Gerving praised his teams effort in both games, and said they were able to get the victories with hard work.

"Win's bring out the smiles," said. "It is so enjoyable to see them smiling."

Whitehall (6-10) will play their final regular season game Friday night against league rival Townsend. The varsity game is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The game is the last at home for six Whitehall seniors.

Bryn Welker, Mesquite Melton, Kaya Welch, Rachel Smith, Monica Sepulveda and Ann Russell will all graduate in May.

"I've really enjoyed the seniors. They are champions," Gerving said.
