James John Arkell passed away Friday, March 31 at his home in Whitehall at the age of 92.

Jim was born on February 21, 1925 in Minneapolis to Harry and Catherine Arkell. He is survived by his wife Thelma of 64 years, nine children, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two sisters.

Jim is a World War 2 Veteran from 1945 to 1946. He raised his family doing everything from ranching in Avon and Willow Creek, to working as a heavy equipment Mechanic at the mines in Butte and Whitehall.

Jim loved to have fun and visit with friends and family. He made everyone he met smile. He loved the outdoors, horses, gardening and woodworking.

Join us for a friends and family gathering April 15. A potluck is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church located at 6 First East in Whitehall.
