Money to assist reading program

The Whitehall Rotary Club presented a check for $900 to the Whitehall Library on June 7th to help cover some of the costs of the summer reading program.

Rotary members Arlene Weber and Millie Baycroft presented the check to Jeannie Ferriss.

Millie provided a brief explanation about how the money would be used to a group of children gathered for the start of summer program. Whitehall Rotary members will also be donating time at the library this summer to help with several projects related to the grant money given on June 7th.

Literacy is one area of focus for Rotarians worldwide.

The Whitehall club also donates dictionaries to area third graders, provides a bike safety education class for Whitehall third graders and helps to sponsor high school students to Boys and Girls State.
