Production exceeds target at GSM

The production numbers were well above target during May at the Barrick Golden Sunlight Mine.

At the monthly Community Transition Advisory Committee meeting last week, mine environmental superintendent Chuck Buus reported production at 6,451 ounces, well above the target of 4,000. Buus stated he was pleased with the May production and hopefully this will get them to their target for the year.

Buus also reported that four new employees were hired at the mine bringing the total of Barrick employees from 44 to 48. There are currently over 100 contract employees reporting to the mine. The third party ore reported at the mine was 2,800 tons in May with three different suppliers. There were no spills or injuries during May at the mine.
