Outlaws start strong

Ryan Murphy had two hits yesterday for the Gallatin Valley Outlaws.

The Gallatin Valley Outlaws got off to a strong start yesterday at the Montana-Alberta American Legion Baseball Tournament in Butte.

The team that features Whitehall's Connor Johnson and Ryan Murphy picked up an 18-6 victory over the Livingston Braves. Johnson and Murphy each had two hits.

The third seeded Outlaws will next play Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. against the second seeded Helena Reps.

The game will take place at 3 Legends Stadium in Butte.

Helena is 43-14 overall this season and had a 21-7 conference record. The Outlaws have an overall record of 31-30 and were 19-9 in conference play.

The winner of the game will play Saturday at 4 p.m. The loser will play at 1 p.m.
