Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks

This week is the last week of our summer programming. We finished summer reading with a “Build Your Own Sundae” and final store. It was a great program and we had almost 140 readers. Huge thanks to everyone who made it possible.

This Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. the Library will host a Cowboy Craft time. All kits will be provided and children 3-5th grade are welcome. All children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult as the staff will be assisting many children at the same time. This is a drop-in time so children may enjoy all of the wonderful programming going on during the day. They may enjoy one craft or wish to stay for all three. Crafts will rotate during the afternoon so you may begin anytime.

There are many new books and movies in the Library this summer. If you have a recommendation for an item please let the staff know. I am particularly looking for recommendations for science fiction works.

I don’t want to be repetitive but I want to remind everyone that August will be a month of finishing up our last school visits and Countdown to Kindergarten. There will be no Story Time, Tai Chi, or any other weekly programs during the month. The only groups meeting will be the History and Mystery Books Clubs. We are using this time to prepare for a big launch in September of new programs and old. If you have a suggestion for programming, please let us know.

Earlier this month someone called and asked if we had found a flash drive. The staff searched for it everywhere but with no success. It has suddenly appeared and the owner may pick it up at the front desk by describing it to the staff.

Library hours for the summer are: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have any questions just give us a call at 287-3763.
