Lady Trojans stay positive

Despite a conference loss last week to Manhattan, Whitehall High School head volleyball coach Lauren McDonald is pleased with how hard her team is playing.

The Lady Trojans dropped their lone match last week 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 last Thursday against the Lady Tigers.

McDonald said the girls played really well and did some good things. She said despite two losses to open the conference season, they have stayed positive, are doing a good job at listening to instruction, and are starting to put things together.

Junior Dorothy Mastel had team high four kills and six blocks against the Lady Tigers. Hannah Tebay led the way with five assists, Morgan Benner had five digs, and Kendra Klapan added five blocks.

The Lady Trojans fell in three sets Tuesday night to Shields Valley (25-19, 26-24, 25-23).

The team was supposed to host the Windy City Classic Saturday, but the event was cancelled. They instead will be hosting a double header with Anaconda and Deer Lodge. Action will start at 9 a.m.
