County Commission Update
November 1, 2017
I was in Butte at a training about Tax Increment Financing Districts, Targeted Economic Development Districts, and Urban Renewal Districts last Tuesday at the same time as our regular meeting. The information was great. Some of the types of businesses are different, but for the most part they are pretty similar. They all allow taxes on new improvements to stay in the District to support Public infrastructure needs.
At the regular meeting last week, Bob and Cory adopted Resolution 34-2017which ordered abandoning a portion or the right-of-way on Whitetail Road just outside of Boulder. The part abandoned was the area where the Whitetail Road was moved when they rebuilt Highway 69. They also approved Resolution 27-2017 which creates the Ridge Rural Maintenance District near Clancy. They decided to create a Parks, Recreation, and Trails Advisory Board. The County Attorney will draw up a Resolution with by-laws and numbers that we will approve at another meeting.
FYI: One of our Founding Fathers and 3rd President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson said; “Let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”
