"We've had some growing pains, but we are pushing towards turning that corner," he said.

In their last game of 2017, Whitehall team was unable to erase a 15-point halftime deficit in their 53-34 loss Tuesday against the Lady Herders.

Sophomore Asha Noyes had 15 points to lead the way for the Lady Trojans. Dorothy Mastel had eight, and Macee Patritti and Allee Scafani each added three points. Kendra Klapan had two points for Whitehall.

The Lady Trojans will open play in 2018 on the road January 4 against Manhattan.

"The main focus will be to get better at the little things. We have to cut down on turnovers and create more scoring opportunities. Manhattan will give us an opportunity to see if we've made the right adjustments," Nieskens said.
