Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

EDITORIAL: Fundraiser huge for Senior Center

Whether it is a cup of coffee with a friend, putting together a puzzle while catching up with the latest town gossip or a nice lunch, the Whitehall Senior Center is an important gathering spot for local residents.

Next Sunday, the Center is hosting their annual fundraiser and this an integral time for local residents to come together to help with day-to-day operations.

Even the smallest of donations will help the center remain a valuable part of the community.

Throughout the year, the center puts together a great menu of lunches Monday through Friday, and one of their biggest needs in 2018 is to get a new oven. The money raised this year will go along ways in allowing them to continue to provide the weekly lunches that serve as a great way for friends and neighbors to come together on a daily basis.

This year the event will also have a silent auction and the center is currently seeking donated items. For those who may not be able to attend in person, this is a great way to give back to the center.

There are many worthwhile fundraisers throughout the year in Whitehall and the surrounding area, and this is certainly one of the most important.

For those who may be new to town or have not been to the center in quite some time, make a trip on a cold winter day to see what they have to offer. It will be a great chance to see old friends and make new ones. Whitehall is lucky to have this center and February 18 will be an important day to help with operations in 2018.
