Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
A Thursday night program in Whitehall will give local residents a chance to hear about some of the great things going on at the Jefferson Valley Museum.
The annual meeting of the museum is scheduled for April 5 at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall located at 102 Brooke St.
According to board member Arcylle Shaw, the meeting is a time to see what the museum has accomplished recently, as well as what is planned for the future. She said along with a review of the year, two directors will be elected, and Joe Sologub of Elk Park will present a program about the unknown history of Jefferson County.
Shaw added that because of the Town of Whitehall Tax Increment Fund, a grant from the Montana Department of Tourism and a movie premier fundraiser, the “Brooke Barn” has received some much-needed restoration.
Work is also being done to repair the “Walk of Names” as well as the perimeter fence.
“Many volunteer hours have gone into the never-ending process of caring for the artifacts. Please mark you calendar and take advantage of this opportunity,” Shaw said.
