High School play next week

Whitehall High School students have been busy preparing for their upcoming spring play.

The performance of "See How They Run" by Phillip King is scheduled for April 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. The performances will take place in the High School's Multi Purpose Room and the price is $5. Activity passes will be honored and there is no admission fee for senior citizens.

There will also be a special treat for those in attendance. According to play director Cheri Shaw, ice cream will be served during intermission.

Cast members for the play are Maggie Whitehurst, Allee Scafani, Sawyer Keener, Dorothy Mastel, Garrison Shaw, Karlie Wagner, Alex Hanson, Connor Johnson and Brandon Gipson.

The stage crew members are Kaya Smith, Dawson Hoerauf, Dalaney Scafani, and Ryan Murphy.

A farce set in three acts, "See How They Run" first premiered on stage in England in 1944.

Shaw said it is a challenging show for both actors and directors due to the physical comedy and the comedic timing that is essential to "pulling it off".

"I have a stellar cast that has taken on the physicality and challenges of complicated entrances and exits that are common in any farce," she said.
