Trojans open season in Boulder

A tough season opening course did not deter the Whitehall Cross Country team from some positive times at last week's Jefferson Invite in Boulder.

Leading the way for the Trojans was junior Madison Loomis who finished the race in fifth place with a time of 23:38. Following the race, Whitehall head coach Kerry Sacry lauded the performance of Loomis on a course he said featured a tough hill at the start of the 3-mile race.

Freshman Brynna Wolfe had a solid start to her high school career finishing in 14th place with a time of 26:06. Sophomore Macee Patritti placed 17th with a time of 27:04.

The top finisher for the boys was freshman Adam Williams who placed 18th with a time of 22:18. Sophomore Kenzie Hugulet was 22nd with a time of 24:40. Sophomore Ethan Flood ended the race in 26th with a time of 28:53.

The Trojans will next compete Saturday, September 1 at the Belgrade Meet in Bozeman. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
