Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Ambulance board selects JVEMSR

The Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District Board voted late last month to accept a Request for Proposal from Partners United for Live Saving Education (PULSE)/Jefferson Valley Emergency Medical Services and Rescue.

PULSE/JVEMSR will now provide ambulance service for the district, which includes the Whitehall School District, excluding the town limits of Whitehall and Sliver Bow and Madison Counties. Jefferson County voters approved a measure to create the district in late 2017.

Board Chair Sue Pullman said they are happy to be moving forward, adding the board is currently looking for land to place the services.

Pullman and board members have also been in contact with County Attorney Steve Haddon to determine what would need to take place to include the Town of Whitehall, and the local areas in Madison and Silver Bow counties to the district.

RFP

The RFP from JVEMSR addressed various information requested by the district board.

JVEMSR Service Manager Trent Biggers said they will continue to provide, at least three fully stocked and licensed ambulances in the service area. He said they currently respond to 911 calls in the service area 24/7/365, adding this level of service will continue into the future.

Biggers said they have staffing for their first and second crews within a four-mile radius of Whitehall, and in the event of a significant emergency, JVEMSR has agreements in place to mutually adjoining geographic areas, and those services agree to assist in the district area if necessary.
