Lady Trojans show promise

It was a busy weekend of action for the Whitehall High School Tennis team.

Competing at the Great Falls Tournament, the Lady Trojans had a win for each player who made the trip. The team went 12-10 in singles and 6-4 in doubles matches.

Head Coach Kerry Sacry said it was good learning experience for his team.

Britney Welker went 2-3 at number one singles for Whitehall. She won 8-6 over Rachel DeLeon of Poplar, and 8-1 over Hannah French of Boulder.

Alicia Konold went 2-3 for Whitehall. She picked up a 8-7 win over Elyssia Horn of harlem and a 8-3 victory over Sam Zody of Boulder.

Madison Homer was 3-2, picking up 8-0 victories over Demi Kegley of Wolf Point Layla Skidmore of Harlem, and Maria Yooupee of Poplar.

Bailee Hess had a great weekend for the Lady Trojans. She went 5-2 and picked up win 8-7 over Madison Bachanan of Townsend, 8-7 over Quin Christensen of Fairfield, 8-2 over Alexus Cochran of Harlem, 8-4 over Tempe Solomon of Boulder and 8-3 over Aubree Woldbilling of Three Forks.

Meagan Johnson and Hannah Tebay went 3-2 in doubles action with wins against opponents from Townsend, Poplar and Boulder. Kendra Klapan and Dalaney Scafani were also 3-2 in doubles play with wins over opponents from Townsend, Choteau and Harlem.

The team will next compete April 17 and 18 in Choteau.

MONDAY

The Lady Trojans were impressive in action Monday at Boulder. They defeated Three Forks 5-1 with Welker, Homer, Hess, Tebay and Johnson, and Scafani and Klapan all picking up victories.

Whitehall defeated host Jefferson 5-3.

Welker, Homer, and Hess all picked up one victory, and Macee Patritti won two matches for the Lady Trojans.
