Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Black Tie Blue Jeans fundraiser Saturday

Not only is it a great time for those in attendance, Black Tie Blue Jeans is also the largest local fundraising event of the year with thousands of dollars going back to the community.

The 15th annual event is scheduled to take place Saturday, May 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Whitehall Community Center. The event is brought to you by the Jefferson Valley Community Foundation and the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce.

The theme of the 2019 fundraiser is "A Race to the Finish" and prizes will be awarded for best derby attire. BTBJ will include dinner, live and silent auctions, bucket raffles, and a Calcutta with a chance to raise $1,000.

According to event organizers, the fundraiser supports a multitude of Whitehall organizations. In 2018, funds were granted to Friends of the Whitehall Library, P.U.L.S.E., Town of Whitehall, VFW Post 4603 and the Whitehall Saddle Club. This event also assists in funding numerous Whitehall events put on by the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce as well as providing ongoing funding to the Jefferson Valley Community Foundation.

"This event is not only beneficial to the Chamber; it helps out so many other organizations in the community. The money raised really does enhance the quality of life in the Whitehall area," said Chamber President Melissa Jenkins.

Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased at the Corner Store located at 201. W. Legion. Single tickets are $75 and $150 for couples.
