Whitehall Country Store donates funds for Veteran Grave Markers

American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4603 have received a grant from The Whitehall Country Store to purchase Veteran Grave Markers for the Whitehall Cemetery. When you pay your respects this year on Memorial Day you will see that they have marked the Graves with "US VETERAN" MARKERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED. No Veteran should ever be forgotten. If you know a veteran is in the cemetery, but has no marker, please contact a member of either the VFW or the American Legion.

On Friday 24 May, the Local Veteran Organizations will be placing American Flags on Legion Ave and Whitehall Street, then they will move to the cemetery to place flags on Veterans Graves. If you would like to participate and show your respects, please be there at 10 am.

We are looking for donations also to keep this program alive. If you would like to donate, send a check for $15.00 to American Legion Post 24, PO Box 773, Whitehall, MT 59759. Make the check payable to American Legion Post 24, in the remakes section write Grave Markers. (These donations are tax deductible.)

We are also looking for all who have served their country. Now is the time to help your community. If you would like to be a member of a special organization, e-mail us at whitehall.veteransorg@gmail.com.
