Man arrested after July 28 home invasion

A 31-year-old was arrested in the early morning hours on July 28 following a home invasion in Whitehall.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Craig Doolittle, the department received a call at 4:55 a.m. from a resident on 2nd Street West who reported he had woken up and found someone in his bedroom. Doolittle said the resident detained the suspect and it was reported he had another person waiting outside in a vehicle.

Doolittle added the suspect was able to run out of the back door of the residence and at this time there does not appear to be anything missing from the residence.

Jeremie Clay was located at 6:05 a.m. on Legion Street. He was arrested and is currently in Jefferson County Jail charged with burglary.

Doolittle said the case and possible other suspect is still under investigation.
