Lady Trojans defeat Big Timber

The Whitehall High School volleyball team bounced back from a conference opening home loss against Townsend Thursday with a four-set victory on the road Saturday in Big Timber.

The Lady Trojans picked up the victory with a 25-20, 20-25, 25-23 and 25-19 win over the Lady Herders.

"It was so great. The girls worked their tails off and never gave up, even when we were down in the third game. I'm so proud of them. This group really has a lot of heart, a lot of fire, and a desire to win," said head coach Kyla Simon.

In their first home game of the season Thursday, Whitehall fell to 18-25, 13-25, and 17-25 to the visiting Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Trojans will be back on the road this week with a Thursday game at Manhattan and Saturday matchup at Lone Peak.

Simon said after a short time to celebrate the victory over Big Timber they would get right back to work.

"We are working hard in practice to get better and compete each week," she said.
