Trojans, Wolves to battle Friday

Two Southern B rivals will be looking to pick up their first conference win of the season Friday when the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team travels to take on Three Forks.

After winning their first two games of the season, the Trojans (2-5, 0-4 Southern B) have lost five in a row including a 26-14 road loss last Friday at Columbus.

Trailing 26-0 at half, Whitehall head coach Dan Lacey was extremely impressed with the second half effort of his team.

"We have talked this season and the effort always being there. We have never had to question the effort the players have been giving. We were able to execute more effectively in the second half and it showed," he said.

With two touchdowns in the second half to break a scoring drought for the team, Lacey said he was very impressed with the offensive line.

"That's the best they have played collectively as a group all year," he said.

Looking towards the game against the Wolves (0-6, 0-5 Southern B), Lacey wants his team to take it one play at a time and understand both teams are hungry for a win.

"We have to make sure that we celebrate our success during the game and rebound as a group when negative things happen. Field position and turnovers will be key to success for both teams," he said.
