New Crow's Nest installed at field

There will be a fresh new look next year for those who attend games and other activities taking place at Whitehall High School.

Superintendent Hannah Nieskens reported last week that the "Crow's Nest" and bleacher project is about 90 percent complete. She said that additional work that needs to be completed includes putting in a new sound system and bleacher lighting.

The work coincides with a 2017 project to replace the bleachers that had been at the field for nearly 60 years.

Work will also take place this summer in Varsity Gym.

Nieskens said new bleachers would be installed this week and they also plan on painting the ceiling of the Varsity Gym in late July.

She added the district is also working with the Town of Whitehall regarding issues with their fence. Over the past two years, there have been two people who have driven a vehicle through the elementary fence and continued onto the playground before exiting school property.
