Local residents will have plenty of chances to find a hidden gem this Saturday at the annual Whitehall Community Garage Sale.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27 and maps can be picked up starting Friday at the Corner Store and the day of at the Whitehall Farmer's Market and Open Air Street Market.

Chamber President John Kreis said he is ecstatic they are able to start with the city-wide garage sale as one of the first green shoots of a return to something of normalcy. He added several businesses will be having flea markets the same day.

"The Chamber has held its collective breath and thanks to everyone in town for their energy and help," he said.

Along with the return to normalcy, Kreis sees several positives about the event.

"First of all, especially this year, the event, because it is a city-wide event we hope it will give encouragement and safe (don't forget social distancing) interaction where for months we've been required to stay away from friends and neighbors," he said. "Secondly, we're hoping the garage sale will provide more interaction between business and all other neighbors in town."
