Community Christmas Celebration December 20

Covenant Community Church, along with others in the Whitehall area, is planning a Community Christmas Celebration on December 20th, at 4 p.m. on the lawn of The Education Station, located on the corner of Legion and Division Streets. The celebration will include live music, refreshments, fellowship, and a tree lighting.

As part of the celebration, we will also be doing a "Blessing Tree" to help meet needs within the community. This has been a difficult year for many, and this will be an opportunity for anyone who feels led to bless a neighbor in need.

To participate, simply place cash or a gift card/certificate for something useful like groceries or gas in a Christmas card and write a note of encouragement to go along with it. You can sign your name or leave it anonymous. Place it all in a plain envelope and deliver it to the collection box at the Pepper Tree Deli by Saturday, December 19th.

To receive a gift of blessing, simply attend the Community Christmas Celebration, select a numbered tag from the "Blessing Tree," and exchange it for the corresponding numbered envelope.

This Celebration is intended to encourage our community by reminding ourselves that even with all that we are going through and will likely continue to endure, certain things remain true and trustworthy.

• God is still God. He loves us and cares for us.

• Jesus is still the Light of the World, King of all Creation with all authority, and he loves us.

• We, even today, are so richly blessed. When we consider the course of history, OUR modern lives are the easiest, richest, and most peaceful of all.

• Trying times are not permanent. They are opportunities to become better people building better communities.

All are welcome to attend and join us for this evening of fellowship, encouragement, and blessing our neighbors in need!If you would like further information, call Steve Wagner at 406-490-9103.
