Dear Editor: Geri Dorvall Responds

Dear Editor,

July 24, 2018: Trump quote “Just remember what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what is happening – just stick with us, don’t believe the crap you see from these people, the fake news.”

Most of my information about Trump comes from one source – Trump himself. I watched his speeches live when possible and then did follow-up research on any claims he made. He lied many times to the American people.

Trump said, “You’re not paying for those tariffs. China is paying for those tariffs.” Tariffs are picked up by the American consumer.

Trump said, “Windmills cause cancer.” The American Cancer Society has rejected this claim.

Trump said, “Mexico will pay for the wall.” Didn’t happen.

In 2016 Trump claimed he received more electoral votes (306) than any president since Reagan. George H.W. Bush won with 426. Bill Clinton won with 370 (1992) and 379 (1996). Obama won with 365 (2008) and 332 (2012). A few clicks of the mouse and these lies are easily debunked. There are many more too numerous to mention.

My point is, if he lies about things that are and have been disproved, why would you believe him about election fraud? COVID-19? Immigration? Before you respond with “all politicians lie!” I agree. Just not on the same level Trump has.

Think about this before you claim that the media is responsible for all the misinformation.

Lindell is being sued for defamation by Dominion Voting Systems for $1.3 billion dollars. Fifty states certified the election; our courts ruled against claims of voter fraud.

Investigations continue into the attack on our Capitol to overturn the election. Hopefully, we will find out the truth. Perhaps after 238 years we should be able to solve our differences without killing each other. Progress?
