Whitehall High School Drama Department presents, The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde. Set in the late 1890's, this show is a satire about mistaken identities, secret engagements, and societal expectations. Two women are both in love with the mythical character of "Ernest". Jack Worthing has wooed Gwendolen Fairfax as Ernest, while Algernon Moncrief also poses as Ernest to win the affections of Cecily Cardew. All four arrive at Jack's country home on the same weekend where pandemonium breaks loose. Add in a high society aunt, the reverend trying to help the gentlemen get christen...
