Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Jefferson Valley EMS & Rescue recently purchased two tracked stair chairs for carrying patients down flights of stairs. Funds for the purchase were a combination of a $2000 grant from Northwest Farm Credit Services and $1000 gift from Sandy Kraha. Special thanks go to Sandy Carey for assisting with the writing of the NW Farm Credit Services grant. The stair chairs keep patients and care providers safer than other means of carrying patients down stairs.
The NWFCS award was presented prior to the Tuesday 3-hour class of the current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course that is underway this spring at the ambulance facility. Eleven students are enrolled in this 140-hour, concentrated course, two of whom are shown seated in the photo. Course costs for students that are local are being provided by the Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District as one of the many ways they support the excellent level of care provided by the local ambulance service. Jefferson Valley EMS & Rescue is a nonprofit community volunteer organization that depends on grants, donations, rural ambulance district support, and collectable fees for ambulance services provided.
