Talent Showcase Fundraiser Saturday

A Talent Showcase Fundraiser for Kelly Jo Elser and Lily Jensen's trip to ARTS Orlando 2021 will be held at the Madison County Fairgrounds Round Bar in Twin Bridges on May 8th. All proceeds will go towards travel expenses for the girls' trip to he Arts Talent showcase in Orlando, Florida from June 30th to July 4th.

Both girls have music in their blood and are working towards futures as professional singers.

"Music first really came to me through my mom. Before the three of us Jensens were born or even a thought, she worked at a record company, Warner Elktra Atlantic (W.E.A.), in Illinois and was a part of the greatest music in history. She experienced the industry and time with bands during that period of her life. This gave me some knowledge of the music industry and music in general while growing up. She was the start to my musical journey," said Lily Jensen, 23.

Jensen starting singing and performing in Butte's Jining City Star competition when she was just 11, and continued throughout high school. She credits Mining City Star creator Natasha Richter and Whitehall High music teacher Janet Heilig with much of her talent.

"I've written music since I was 15 and just wanna really sing for God. He was the one who opened these doors to The ARTS Talent for not only myself but for my friend Kelly Jo, who will be joining me on this glorious journey. I'm glad to have not only God and my son but a close friend too, right by my side during this splendid endeavor.," Jensen said, adding that her son is also a big inspiration.

Kelly Jo Elser, 30, had a mic placed in her hands at the age of 8 and has never put it down. Her first song ever performed was karaoke with Amarillo by Morning; she has since moved on to live performances, as well as karaoke contests. She especially loves to sing the National Anthem, which she performed at the BY's Youth Rodeo on Saturday, May 1st.

"My family has always had talent in their blood. My relatives all play or played the accordion for years; my talent has always been my voice," Elser said.

The spaghetti dinner fundraiser will include music, raffle tickets to win a rifle and other treasures, and a live auction.

The ARTS, Applause Rising Talent Showcase, helps adults and youth aspiring to be actors, models, dancers, and singers cut through all of the red-tape in this industry to find healthy success.
