George Lee Hatch, 85

George Lee Hatch passed away February 9th of sepsis in a Naples, Florida hospital. Catherine, his wife of 52 years and best friend, was at his side.

George lived life to the fullest. Moderation was not in his vocabulary. He went in the army at 17 and served in Korea. He worked hard and played hard. He had been a painter, iron worker, truck driver, salesman, sampler in the underground mines, farmer, and surveyor - just to mention a few. He was a lover of nature and animals of all kinds. He was a hiker, camper, biker, skier, birdwatcher, fisherman, photographer, horseman, hunter, gardener, walker, and traveler. He did all with zest.

George loved a good time and with martini in hand, he would have family or friends spellbound or in stitches with his stories, complete with sound effects.

Preceding him in death were brother-in-law Wes Mullaney and sister-in-law Sharon Quinn.

He is survived by sister-in-law Ginny Mullaney; her son Ben and Brooke Crase; his niece Tracy Elder; nephews John Quinn and Donna Joe and Shelley Quinn, Mark and Lori Quinn, Mike and Cindy Mullaney, Pat Mullaney, Peggy Mullaney. Brothers Barry and Norma Hatch; their son Randy and Linda, Dennis and Gayle Hatch. Sister Avis Kay Morgan and her sons Mario and Carlos. Great-nephews Matt and Quinn Elder, and Eli Quinn, JJ Mullaney. Great-nieces McKenna, Josey, Jordan, Dylan, and Mason.

George dealt with many serious health issues but always redirected his life and activities accordingly. He was a strong, intelligent, patient man, who will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He had friends from all over the country.

If you wish to remember him, donations may be made to Albert's Angels in Butte or The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
