Looking for a new hobby? Want to make your own Christmas presents this year? The Copper K Fiber Festival is the place to learn, and they have a great selection of workshops to choose from.

The Fiber Festival will be held at the Copper K Barn outside of Whitehall July 17-18; the event is free to attend, but workshops carry a registration fee and must be signed up for ahead of time.

Learn the ways of fiber arts at one of these amazing workshops:

Saturday, July 17th:

Learn to Spin - Beginning Wheel Spinning (including getting to know your wheel) with Tammy Jordan.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to spin your own yarn? It's fun, it's relaxing, and Tammy can show you how! 9AM - 4PM: $130

Twining Mat "Weaving between the ditches" with Billy Maxwell. Currently sold out.

I Dye Daily - Roving with Peggy Doney. Will I felt my fiber? How much water do I use? Hot or Cold water? When do I use acid? 9AM - Noon: $75

Just Indigo Saturday with Billy Maxwell. With just a touch of effort, you may never buy dye or heat above 111 degrees F to get the color of your dreams that will last the worst conditions. Note: very small class size; a second workshop is offered Sunday. 1PM - 4PM: $65

Prep 101 - All You Need to Know with Tammy Jordan. Are you new to fiber processing or wanted to start from the beginning? If so, this is the perfect class for you! In this all-day class, we'll go over the basic types of wool and fiber processing tips for the various types. 8AM - 3PM: $130

Modern Skinnfell Circle Wall Art with Amika Ryan . Learn modern Skinnfell from a 5-year artist of this ancient Norwegian folk art! Students will learn the art of block printing with ink on sheepskin leather, and the basics of sewing sheepskin by hand to make your own unique wall hanging in the round. 12PM - 3PM: $95

Sassify Your Silk Scarf with Christy Greene. We will have 2 stations, one for shaving cream marbling and another for salt blending, so students will have a chance to create up to 4 scarves, depending on how long they work on each piece, at their own pace. 9AM - Noon: $70.
