Aileen Marian Shaw, 76

Aileen Marian Shaw passed away July 22, 2021, at St. James Hospital in Butte MT, surrounded by her husband, Walter Shaw, and her family.

Aileen was born in Butte, MT on July 17, 1945 and lived in Bearmouth, MT, later moving to Gardner, then on to Twin Bridges. She met the love of her life, Walter Shaw and they married July 27, 1961, and settled in Cardwell, MT on the Shaw Basin Ranch to begin their life together, raising four handsome sons.

Aileen had a love for baking; ask anyone in the community and they will tell you how wonderful her cakes, pies, cream puffs and all her baked goods were! She received many ribbons at the local fairs for her cakes, jams, jellies and breads. She also made many amazing wedding cakes. Aileen had several hobbies she enjoyed, including reading, embroidering and quilting. Her quilts were lovingly made for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were also many community members that received her beautiful quilts as gifts. One of Aileen's greatest loves was for her cars! Her car was her gateway to freedom, she loved to drive and travel around. Once married, she was proud of the fact that she was one of the first ladies in the valley to own her own car, a Plymouth Satellite and to have her own check book! If you drove by the ranch, you would see her relaxing under her Weeping Birch tree she planted, book in hand and a glass of iced tea on the table by her.

Aileen was preceded in death by her sons, Brett & Carl, her mother Marian Owsley, her father Dan Owsley and her brother Daniel Owsley.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life Walter Shaw; her sons, Walt (Helen), Gerald (Michele), and Lony (Janell); grandchildren, Kathryn, Lyn, Walt & Jordon (Walt), James, Stasha, Bridgette & Whitney (Gerald), Carl & Lauren (Lony), and many great grandchildren.

Per Aileen's request, there will be no services. The family had a Celebration of Life in lieu of what would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at https://www.kandlmortuaries.com/obituaries
