Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 9/22/2021

The weather is getting cooler, the leaves are falling, and everyone is starting to think about indoor activities. On Thursday, September 30th, at 5:30 p.m. the Library is hosting a family and friends game night. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite board games, snacks, drinks, and friends/family members to enjoy an evening of fun. This is open to all ages and patrons may choose whichever game they would like to join. The Library has several shelves of board games which will also be available to use.

Our painting classes are back in full swing on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The Paint By Number group members are working on their projects; there are a few more kits left, so if you would like to come and join the fun, it is not to late to start a painting.

For those who would like to try watercolor painting, the Adult Watercolor class, taught by our own Sara, is meeting on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. This is an adult evening out for those who are looking for a quiet evening of creativity and making new friends.

Speaking of Tuesdays, the Library will close one hour early on Tuesday, September 28th, at 6:00 p.m. There will be no painting that night as the entire staff, volunteers, board members, and Friends will be having an evening together. Trying to get everyone in one place is akin to herding cats so I am taking advantage of this time when they will all be in one place.

This Friday is our special story time day with Miss Deanna from PBS! She will be sharing all sorts of fun activities, books, computer videos, and more. Everyone loves to have her visit and if you have not had a chance to experience her fantastic programs with a preschooler this is your chance. Story Time begins at 9:30 a.m. on Fridays.

Staff is busy weeding our Young Adult and Fiction collections this month. All the discarded books will be put in the book sale, so watch for some great bargains. The proceeds from the book sale go to support library activities, special projects, speakers, and more. Books go for the unbelievable price of 20 cents for hardbacks, 10 cents for paperbacks, and 25 cents for DVD’s. There are lots to choose from and the sale rotates new books in every week.
