Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

New Faces Needed...

In a small town like Whitehall it is common to see the same faces over and over again. At the grocery store. At the library. At the post office. Small town life at its finest. However, the same faces at every committee meeting - that’s something that needs to change.

I’m calling out to the youth of our town, the newbies in our town, the retired of our town, the bored-and-need-something-to-do of our town...basically, I’m calling out to everyone. GET INVOLVED!

Right now there are so many new committees, organizations, and non-profits who need new points of view. There is so much possibility for great growth we all approve of - whether it be the growth of business, new housing, more events, more opportunities. Growth is out there. Change is out there - but only if you get involved.

The old saying is, don’t complain if you haven’t volunteered. Now’s the time!

Here are a few entities who need new faces:

• Jefferson Local Development Corporation has several board positions open. Call them at 287-3282.

• The Whitehall Chamber of Commerce has board openings. Call them at 287-2260.

• The Community Development Committee has committee openings. Come to the meeting at Borden’s conference room, October 13 at 1PM.

• The Whitehall Master Plan is looking for input. Come to the meeting Wednesday, October 6 at 6PM at the Community Center.

• Gold Junction Presents is always looking for volunteers. Call 498-3807 for information.

• The Friends of the Whitehall Library is always looking for volunteers. Call 287-3763 for information.

• Whitehall Booster Club needs your support! Call Bobbi Jo Wagner at 287-7982.

• The Whitehall PTSA needs your input, ideas and support! Call Courtney Raty at 406-836-9523.

There are so many more opportunities than just these - ask around! Get involved!
