Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: 12/15/2021

What an amazing weekend! Congratulations to the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, Lorie Steerman and Rhea Armstrong for such a wonderful event. The library hosted 770 adults, youth, and children in seven different programs during the day. Our counter said 680 people came in on Saturday to enjoy a variety of activities.

I want to thank my incredible staff, volunteers, Deanna Mydland of PBSKids, Friends of the Library and our own beloved Santa Claus. This year Santa had two elves, Kay Crusch and Leah LeMere, to assist in handing out goodies. We also had a very special Christmas story reading by Ginny Blackburn which entertained both young and old alike!

The Winter Wear Giveaway saw coats, hats, gloves, scarves, pajamas, and socks go out the door to find homes for the cold weather. We want to thank our little crocket and knitting elves who work hard all year making beautiful hats to give away. Everyone loved them! We still have some left, as well as several boxes of food, so please feel free to stop by and claim them.

After such a busy weekend it is time for a little rest. Apart from the History Book Club on December 20th at 6:00 p.m., the library will take a break from programs until January 3. We will be closed on Friday and

Saturday, December 24th and 25th, as well as Friday and Saturday December 31st and January 1st for the holidays. This will give the staff time to finish planning winter programs as well as do some in-house cleaning projects.

January calendars will be out by Christmas as we are still adding programs and events to them. If you have any questions, please contact the Whitehall Community Library at 406-287-3763.
