Dear Jo,

I have heard a lot of people complaining and/or asking about what to do about receiving thank-you acknowledgments. Here is the other side of that dilemma. What does one do when receiving gifts that for whatever reason are unfortunate picks for the receiver? I feel as if I’m lying when I say “thank you.” I’ve tried not sending a thank you, but that felt icky and did not work.

Signed,

You Shouldn’t Have

Dear Shouldn’t Have,

Always be gracious and kind. Send the thank you, it really is the thought that counts.

Signed,

Jo

Dear Jo,

I am trying to lose weight. I know, I know, so typical of the new year, right? Myself and about a trillion others. Here’s the hardest part. My beautiful sister is not just a good cook, but a wonderful baker and always has fresh yummies at her home. I spend a lot of time there. She somehow does not seem too tempted. I kinda want to kick her butt for always having my favorites!

How can I stick to my “eat healthier, eat less” with all these fresh cookies, delicious dinners, and good company to boot?!

Signed,

Too Good to Pass Up

Dear Too Good to Pass Up,

SELF CONTROL!

Signed,

Jo
