Morris Receives Pharmacist of the Year Award

The Montana Pharmacy Association (MPA) is pleased to announce that Josh Morris, the owner of Elkhorn Pharmacy in Boulder, Silvertip Pharmacy in West Yellowstone, and Whitehall Pharmacy has received the association’s “Fitzgerald Pharmacist of the Year Award”. The award is presented annually by MPA to a pharmacist who has demonstrated leadership and service to the pharmacy profession.

Josh was recognized by MPA Board Member JoEllen Mauer who stated, “Josh is an advocate for pharmacies, independent pharmacies, and community needs. There is truly no one like Josh and we would all be worse off without his actions and advocacy efforts. Over the past year, he has found the time and the means, to set up COVID vaccination clinics for all of Jefferson County School District, as well as other surrounding areas. He was also instrumental in helping the Children’s Hospital in Boulder by raising awareness to ensure patients/employees could access local pharmacies when there was a chance their plans wouldn’t allow local pharmacies to be in-network.”

She added, “Josh is further respected for his service in statewide organizations. For example, he has served on the MPA Board, the MPA Legislative Committee, and currently sits on the Board of Montana Family Pharmacies.

Maurer concluded, “On top of being an owner of three pharmacies, board member, and activist, he finds time to coach high school football and junior high basketball. He is truly an unsung hero both in the Montana pharmacy profession and for all he does to support his local community. Congratulations Josh on being named the Montana Fitzgerald Pharmacist of the Year! “

The Montana Pharmacy Association is a statewide trade organization composed of pharmacy professionals from across the state and nation. The mission of the MPA is to advance public health and maximize positive patient outcomes by providing innovation, leadership, and advocating for the professional interests of pharmacists and ancillary pharmacy personnel.
