PITCH PERFECT: The Whitehall High School Band and Choir performed Tuesday, April 19 in the multi-purpose room for their annual Jitters Concert before attending the District Music festival over the week.

SWEET MELODIES: Whitehall High School senior Emily Smith performed a flute solo at the Jitters Concert in prep for District Music Festival. Emily garnered a Superior rating for her piece.
IN HARMONY: The Golden Quartet consisting of (from left): Kyra Oliverson (junior), Payton DuBois (freshman), Emerson Bourbonis-Carter (junior), and Gabriel Popalis (freshman) performed to a captive audience. The quartet brought home an Excellent rating.
JAZZY: Whitehall senior Kaden Weber performed a three-part piece on the clarinet. Weber brought an Excellent rating home from District Music Festival.
DEEP BARITONE: Whitehall senior Marissa Ellison played a baritone solo during the Jitters Concert. Her performance brought her a Superior rating from judges over the weekend in Deer Lodge.
ALTO SONG: Whitehall sophomore Ashlyn Alley and her alto saxophone earned an Excellent rating at this weekend's District Music Festival.
The WHS Band and Choir traveled to District Music Festival in Deer Lodge over the weekend and had a strong showing of talent.
The WHS Band brought home a II rating of Excellent, while the Choir earned an I rating of Superior. The Golden Quartet, which is comprised of Kyra Oliverson, Payton DuBois, Gabriel Popalis, and Emerson Bourbanis-Carter earned a II rating.
Superior ratings were earned by the following students: Kyra Oliverson (vocal), Emerson Bourbanis-Carter (vocal), Emily Smith (flute), Gabriel Popalis (vocal), Marissa Ellison (baritone), and Zoey Crain (baritone).
Excellent ratings were earned by Austin Bonnet (vocal), Ashlyn Alley (alto sax), and Kaden Weber (clarinet).
"I am very proud of the successes and decorum of these students. Ratings are from V-I, so to have all of them place in the top is terrific!" said director Janet Heilig.
Superior ratings have the honor of attending the State Music Festival in Helena, May 6-7. However, the full choir ensemble does not attend State.
