Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Construction Season Begins on Legion Avenue, More

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is resurfacing and rehabilitating about six miles of MT 69. This project begins at the intersection of Whitehall Street and Legion Avenue in Whitehall before proceeding east from town. The project ends at the junction of MT 69 and MT 2.

Improvements include:

• resurfaced pavement and new pavement markings

• limited curb and gutter replacement

• improved signage

• upgrade guardrails

• crack seal of the Whitehall Creek Bridge

Construction is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2022.

For the safety of the public and workers, MDT encourages motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, slow down, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

During construction:

• traffic will be reduced to a single lane

• traffic signals, pilot cars, and flaggers will direct motorists through work zones

• expect up to 15-minute delays

• reduced speeds and width restrictions

• work can take place during daylight hours from 6 AM to 10 PM.
