Trojan Wrestling Tournament a Huge Success

With the support of many community members, Whitehall hosted 25 teams and over 300 wrestlers, including 45 girls wrestling in their own competition. After three days of wrestling, Whitehall wrestlers finished in fourth place. Others placing included Three Forks (first), North Fremont, ID (second), and Jefferson (third).

Whitehall wrestled in ten duals over the three days and garnished a 7-3 record. They lost to the three teams who placed ahead of them but defeated Columbus, Fergus County, Belgrade, Conrad, East Helena, Beaverhead County, and Billings-West.

Competition for the varsity squad was led by seniors Miles Hoerauf (182) with a 7-0 record and 6 pins, Leo Scafani (HWT) with 7-0 and 7 pins, Kyle Denny (170) with 9-1 and 7 pins, Gavin Watson (152) with 4-3 and 4 pins, Karson Klapan (205) with 3-3 and 3 pins, Michael Reiff (160) with 3-3 and 3 pins, and Dane Hoover (145) with 2-4 and 1 pin. Others included juniors Ivar Radcliffe (138) with 7-3 and 7 pins, Reilly Slater (126) with 3-6 and 2 pins, Wesley Biggers (152) with 1-3 and 1 pin, and Isaac Skogen (120) with 3-3 and 3 pins; sophomores Cody Fuller (132) with 8-1 and 8 pins, Ethan Wock (205) with 2-0 and 2 pins; and eighth grader Tucker Witzel (103) with 2-5 record and one pin.

Cassidy Collins and Alexas Rector competed in the girls' tournament. Gunner South, Adam Martinez, Jack Raty, Anthoney Porter, Joey Beebout, Braxton Walker, Levi Fuller, Sam Valov, Blake DuBois, Blake Ritz, and Nick Denny all had good competition in the JV tournament.

This weekend the team will travel to Great Falls to compete in their Holiday Classic tournament on Friday and Saturday. Monday, December 19th the team will travel to Anaconda for a dual there.
