In the January 7, 1998 issue of the Whitehall Ledger, owner Glenn Marx offered up 98 Best Wishes for 1998. What a great idea - and lucky for me, as we enter 2023, I only need to offer 23!

23) Best wishes to the newly elected Jefferson County officials, including Commissioner Dan Hagerty, Sheriff Tom Grimsrud, and others.

22) Best wishes to the Whitehall Town Council and employees in getting the Whitehall water treatment facility built and running in 2023.

21) Best wishes to everyone who wrote a letter to the editor in 2022. Let’s keep them coming in 2023.

20) Best wishes to the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department as it continues to upgrade its fire-fighting equipment and department training.

19) Best wishes to the Whitehall music department and to Janet Heilig.

18) Best wishes to the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce as they bring in new leadership, new members, and new ideas in 2023.
