Dear Editor: I Voted For the Rec Board Amended Resolution for Several Reasons

Dear Editor,

At the January Town Council Meeting, I voted in favor of the proposed Rec Board Amended Resolution for several reasons.

At our previous special meeting, there was overwhelming support from around our community to make collaborative improvements to the facility. In addition, the efforts proposed include a plan to pursue more funding options, larger representation to give input on the board itself, specific organizations are not left out (existing or future) and there will be future input by the public on the project.

That Complex will most likely outlive most of us. I don’t know about you but I wish to leave a legacy as a collaborator. Many of us give our blood, sweat, tears, and resources to organizations we love. Let that include our community, those sacrifices don’t go unnoticed. Life is too short.

As council members, we do listen to input and the main objective is to move forward so the Rec Complex can get a major needed facelift. Doing so will be a win for all parties involved. This does not take away from those entities who have poured countless hours into the facility. It actually enhances all those efforts.
