Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Editorial: Taking Some Travel Time

In 2023 I’m looking forward to some travel with family and friends and yes, that means the office will occasionally be closed. However, I do know those dates and will always put them on the calendar, giving everyone a heads up to when the Ledger office will be closed.

Next week I will venture with my best friend to the wilds of New Orleans to be engulfed in Cajun history, Creole food, and more. While it is not quite Mardi Gras, it is Carnival season and we are looking forward to lots of fun. I have been once before for work; I plan to do no work on this trip and will have my email turned off the moment we board the plane!

We have planned our visit accordingly - reservations for lots of delicious food, walking tours of the Garden District and #1 Cemetery, jazz music, and more...but if anyone has any suggestions, please email them to me at whledger@gmail.com! Also, if something happens in Whitehall that I miss, please take a photo and send it my way so it can be covered in the next paper.

In May my baby boy will graduate high school and we promised to take him on a trip, anywhere he wanted, as his graduation gift. He has chosen Hawaii. So, while I don’t know the exact dates yet, I do know that sooner or later I shall be enjoying a Hawaiian luau, all while crying to myself that my child is now an adult. I still am not sure how that happened...him becoming an adult...because I’m holding strong at 39 years old forever!

I apologize ahead of time for the closures at the office but a little travel in my life is needed; again, I will make sure to keep the dates of closures posted as soon as I know them. Also, don’t forget that the Ledger has also traveled to its new location at 405 West Legion. Stop by, have a cup of coffee, and check out the new digs!
