Summer Reading registrations are pouring in and next week's Wednesday program will be Rhea Armstrong and "The Mystery of Montana Animals" at 10:30 AM. The rest of the month will include the annual puppet show on June 21st and a Detective Kit Making Workshop for future crime fighters on June 28th.

The Summer Reading theme this year is "The Great Library Treasure Mystery" and everyone from 0-120 is invited to sign up for programs, crafts, special events, and prizes. For every 15 minutes read, or every book in the of our super readers, participants fill in one footprint. At the end of each footprint trail, readers will receive a prize.

On Thursday, June 8th, at 2 PM, Miss Brandi will be doing a special Science Camp for all ages. This will be a monthly event during the summer so watch for those special days!

The Rockhounding Group will be taking its first field trip on Monday, June 12, to explore a site in the Pipestone area. Everyone will meet at the Library at 5 PM, then caravan to the area to meet with local geologist Debbie Hanneman. Participants need to wear good footwear, as well as pack plenty of water and insect repellent for the evening. They will also meet on Monday, June 19th at 5:30 PM, to discuss their adventure as well as plan for future events. Any young person under the age of 18 who would like to attend must be accompanied by a parent.

For those budding artists in town, Open Painting will begin on Thursday, June 8th, at 3 PM. The Library will supply watercolor instruction books, paint-by-number kits, paper for free painting, and different types of paints. This is a program for middle/high school students and adults who want to explore their artistic side.

The Summer Feeding Program will begin on June 12th and is open to any child under the age of 18. There is no paperwork to fill out and anyone may pick up meals beginning at 11:30 AM from Monday through Thursday during June and July. Storytime will be on Fridays at 10:30 AM for all babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. This weekly session has a variety of activities including books, crafts, music, science experiments, nature projects, and more for our youngest readers.

The Library is hosting Mystery Trivia Night on June 13th at 6 PM. Everyone is invited to gather up a team made up of friends, family, or just a mystery buff who wants to play. There will be prizes, snacks, and questions of all sorts. Topics will include movies, books, characters, plots, murder genre authors, and more.
