Cardwell Community Church Apple Pie Contest

Earlier this spring the Cardwell Community Church sponsored a free community ice cream social - the event was a huge success with an attendance of over one hundred people! The goal was to have fun, eat some ice cream, say thanks to our community for all they mean to us, and emphasize the Cardwell Community Church’s desire to provide a source of personal aid and spiritual insight to our area.

In October the Cardwell Community Church will hold its free community social event, part II - but this time it will be an apple pie contest for the fun and enjoyment of our community. Fall is a wonderful time of the year and apples and their scent bring us all great memories. Just as you remember those 4-H or other community fair events were judged and awarded prizes, such is the case with this free event.

The event will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the Borden’s Conference room.

The Cardwell Community Church is asking local businesses to consider submitting a pie for the event; individuals are also asked to participate as well. Pie submittals are limited to the first 20 respondents who let the Cardwell Church know they are participating (contact Jim Rollick at jrollick@gmail.com, call 406-451-3915, register your interest on the Cardwell Community Church Facebook page, or leave a voicemail on the church answering machine at 406-287-5771.

Three community business leaders are being established as the judges of the pies. The top two (2) rated pies will not only receive a bouquet of flowers from our local flower shop Freedom Floral but also the names and photos of the winners will be posted in the following Whitehall Ledger edition.

Pre-registration is REQUIRED so random numbers can be assigned to entrants and information sent out on judging criteria.

This is all meant to provide an enjoyable evening and when the judging is over, everyone in attendance will get to eat the various pies - along with some ice cream and coffee.

Mark your calendars for October 20th and get to baking!
