Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Learning Center Just Shy of Complete Funding

The Barrick Learning Center is almost completely funded. This project will provide Whitehall with a permanent childcare facility dedicated to serving approximately 40 local families annually for years to come with high-quality childcare. We are just $2,500 shy of getting this project completed.

Specifically, the funds will be used to prepare the land for electrical hookups. Completing these utility connections is a critical final step before the center can open. There is a demonstrable need for more childcare in Whitehall. Currently, only two licensed programs are operating at or near capacity with waitlists of up to two years.

We have secured funding and in-kind contributions from various sources including the Whitehall School District, state grants, county funds, Barrick Golden Sunlight Mine, and private foundations. However, we still need $2,500 to complete the project and unlock this resource for our community.

On behalf of the 40+ families it will serve annually, thank you for considering this request. The Barrick Learning Center will open as soon as possible, so please make your tax-deductible donation to Southwest Montana Youth Partners through their website or send a check. Please let us know if you need any additional information. Lindsey Graham (406-240-5818) or Kristi Wilson (406-223-3480) are happy to answer any questions.
