Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Dear Editor,
I recently traveled out of state visiting family returning to find a sign I posted on my property destroyed.
The sign, posted along the eastbound lane of I-90, stated "Embrace Democracy - Reject Trumpism." I salvaged a portion of the sign and re-erected it.
I am disappointed that there are those who would commit an act of violence in order to suppress First Amendment rights of free speech because they do not agree with opposing views.
However, suppressing different opinions is one of the decaying pillars of Trumpism, so I am not surprised.
Rather than being disheartened, I am doubling down on promoting and protecting our right to free speech. I will post this sign as many times as I have to. I hope there are others out there who feel the same way and who wish to keep our country free for everyone.
After giving all this some thought, I have concluded that enduring a little bit of vandalism is a small price to pay when compared to what Ukrainians are suffering. America, it's a free country, right?
Sincerely,
DON LEPINSKY
