Dear Editor: Thank You Again to Ambulance Team

Dear Editor,

Thanksgiving is this Thursday already, I have been busy recuperating from an accident and an infection in my knee. In August I slipped on some water on ceramic tile. At 69 years old, it is not a good thing to do the splits, especially without warming up. I suffered a torn hamstring on my left leg and had to go by ambulance to hospital as we questioned a fractured hip. I thought I was recovering well from this spill until I ended up with a staph infection in my right knee, which had been replaced in 2020.

It has been a journey. I am thankful for all of the community of Whitehall who have sent cards, meals, well wishes, and encouragement; as well as those who helped get me to appointments. Last but definitely not least, thank you for the prayers.

I am also thankful for our ambulance service. I thanked the first crew in August; I have been so bogged down in recovery and the daily grind of working to get better that I neglected to thank the second crew on Labor Day when I went in with the infection.

I would like to thank Pete Armstrong, John Janik, and Katy James. It was a horrible rainy downpour day and a holiday on top of it. Thank you for getting me to the hospital safely and the great care en route, so I could start treatment.

I am blessed to live in this community. This is a great little town and I love it so much.
