Patricia Carrol Miller passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2024, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her family at St. James Healthcare in Butte, Montana. She was often referred to as "Saint Pat" by her eldest son, and also Gramma Pat, Nana, Granny, and Grandma by the family.
Patricia was born May 18th, 1942, in Bradford, Pennsylvania to James and Marguarite (Barnes) Gemmell. From the Keystone State, the family moved to San Fernando, California. Patricia graduated from San Fernando High School and attended beauty college. On Valentine's Day, 1962, in San Fernando, she married Theodore Robert Miller, with whom she had five children – Theodore Jr., Nicole, Paulla, James, and Patrick.
Throughout her life, she lived all over the West Coast. She moved from California to Tigard, Oregon, to Richland, Washington, to Denton, Montana, to Maple Valley, Washington. Her family eventually settled in Whitehall, Montana. She loved Montana and it was there she grew in her faith. She belonged to and taught Sunday School at Zion Lutheran Church. She prayed A LOT for her five kids and all their friends!
Patricia was well known for always having a loving heart and a warm welcoming fire in her fireplace for family and friends. EVERYONE was family at Grandma Pat's! She kept a well-tended garden and made a fantastic pot of ham and beans. She enjoyed bowling and square dancing in her youth and was an avid cribbage player. She had a myriad of well-loved pets and will be missed by her latest four-legged friend, Trixie.
Patricia is survived by her children Theodore Miller Jr. (Nancy) of Oregon, Nicole Miller Rhodes (Mike) of Virginia, Paulla Lalley of Washington, James Miller (Kellie Sawyer) of Montana, and Patrick Miller (Beth) of Montana. Grandchildren include Theodore III, Brett and Amy Marie Miller, Alex Rhodes, and Will Gamble and their son Liam, Ashley Rhodes and Patrick Johnson, Brennan Rhodes, Maggie Lalley and Ian Attwood, Joel Lalley, Ted William, and Madison Miller and their daughter Layla, Tanye Miller, and Tucker and Mason Miller.
Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your local animal shelter.
