Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Thomas Roger Carr, 69

Due to congestive heart disease, Tom left us on December 8, 2023. He will be greatly missed by his friend and caregiver, Jackie Johnson, his siblings Carol Lorang of Great Falls, Jane (Jim) Forthun of Seeley Lake, Roxcee (John) Kountz of Whitehall, Bill (Debbie) Carr of Minnesota, Jim (Glenda) Carr of Whitefish, Cathy (Tim) Garrad of Billings, Karen (Zane) Huff of Billings and John Carr of Billings. Also his children Jessie Carr and Jacob Carr of South Carolina and many nieces and nephews and more friends than he probably even realized.

Tom was born in Lewistown, Montana August 17, 1955, while the family was living in Winnett, Montana. He was born the same day as our Grandma Carr passed. She had been long awaiting her first grandson. Tom was five when the family moved to Whitehall to take over the A&W.

Tom excelled in football, basketball, and especially track where he loved high jumping and broke a record both in Whitehall and then again after moving to Florence in his junior year.

Tom served in the Air Force right after high school. He got an accounting degree from the U of M after he did many other jobs. He went to work for P&S Fabricating as their office manager and worked there until they sold but continued to do work for his boss, Pat until Tom's death. Tom was never afraid of work.

Tom was known to ride his Harley or BMW motorcycle everywhere he went as an adult and would drive through Whitehall and sit on a park bench to see who would notice him. Usually, one of the Kountz kids would see their Uncle Tom and stop and talk to him. He was very special to his nieces and nephew in Whitehall. He also rode his motorcycle to Georgia to see his daughter Jessie and then on the way home stopped at sister Jane's in Oklahoma. We are sure he had a lot of miles on all the bikes he owned.

Those who preceded him in death were his parents Thomas Norman and Ailene Carr, grandparents Thomas and Mabel Carr and Willard and Aila Jarvie, his brother-in-law Tom Lorang and his great nephew, Mathew Carr.

As far as we know no services have been planned by his children.
