The Holocaust Book Discussion group will meet on Thursday, March 28th, at 6 PM. This group explores the many facets of history's darkest period by reading the stories of survivors, general historical accounts, fictionalized tales based on true stories, and young adult literature on the subject. Everyone is welcome, but the group is not recommended for children under twelve due to the content discussed.

The Robotics program is taking off, with meetings for grades 1-5 on Fridays at 2:30 PM and older students on Thursdays at 4 PM. The groups are building robots and exploring different types of computer construction, for starters, as they plan future projects. For more information, please contact the library at 287-3763.

Prizes are coming in for those of you playing Book Bingo this winter. The deadline to turn in cards is April 30. There are separate prizes for the first two bingos, then a larger prize for those who complete a blackout!

As staff is planning summer reading programs, the question of having another Kids Quilting class has come up. Several students asked for a summer class, but there needs to be at least ten quilters for the class to happen. If you have a future quilter who would like to start this summer, please call the library to be added to the list.

The week of April 17-20 is the Montana Library Association Conference in Butte. Because it is so close, we will rotate staff out to attend sessions during the day. It is very seldom that the conference is this close, and it is an excellent opportunity for the staff to earn part of their education credits. The library staff is required to take 60 hours of class time every four years to recertify. The sessions keep everyone current on new technology, policies, collection development, programming personalities, and things going on in the library world at large.

The Montana Library Association is an independent entity and not a branch of a larger organization. The conferences are put together by Montana librarians, who vary depending on where the conference is held that year. I am very excited for the staff to have a chance to attend this event and even more excited I get to be home every night!
